Description: This session will focus on the innovation and impact of a new diagnostic tool for the early detection of lymphoma in canines, IDEXX Cancer Dx. Viewers will learn the scientific foundation, clinical applications and how this diagnostic tool is revolutionizing veterinary practices by allowing broader access to cancer diagnostics. This session will also highlight updates from the time of launch, showcasing its real-world effectiveness, clinical cases encountered, and the promising future of cancer diagnostics in veterinary medicine. Through this session, participants will understand both the clinical and practical aspects of incorporating this diagnostic tool into veterinary practices and its potential to impact the referral community.

Speaker: Dr. Dana Connell earned her DVM and MPH from the University of Florida, followed by a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Auburn University. She completed a three-year oncology residency at the University of Illinois. She also earned a master’s degree researching itraconazole as a chemosensitizer for metastatic osteosarcoma. After becoming board-certified in medical oncology, Dana practiced in Greenville, SC, eventually taking on a Medical Director role. She has served on the Ethos Specialty Advisory Board and the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians Board. Outside of work, Dana enjoys time with her husband and two children, as well as baking and creating art—especially French patisserie.
