He is a coauthor of the Manual of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Medicine and has authored articles on cardiomyopathy\, acute abdomen disease\, drug toxicities and burn injury. Credentials: DVM\, DACVIM\, DACVECC \nCystatin B is a newer urine test for detection of renal tubular cell injury that occurs early in acute kidney injury preceding an increase in functional markers such as SDMA and creatinine by up to two days. He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed both a Dr.med.vet. degree and a PhD at Texas A&M University\, focusing on hyperlipidemia and pancreatitis in dogs. He is residency-trained by the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN). His clinical and research interests include hyperlipidemia\, gastrointestinal disorders\, clinical nutrition\, and the microbiota.
