This lecture provides a comprehensive\, evidence-based review of the current veterinary literature\, translational extrapolation from human medicine guidelines (ASFA 9th Edition\, 2023; EXTRIP workgroup)\, indications by disease category\, patient selection criteria\, technical considerations\, and the horizon of emerging applications.\nPresenter: Dr. Cedric Dufayet earned his veterinary degree from the Alfort School of Veterinary Medicine (France) and completed advanced training in small animal medicine\, nephrology\, and urology. He has over a decade of experience in specialty practice and a focused interest in renal medicine and extracorporeal therapies. Dr. Dufayet completed formal training in human hemodialysis and is a graduate of the UC Davis Hemodialysis Academy. He currently works with the Advanced Urinary Disease Service at the UC Veterinary Medical Center–San Diego.
