An infectious disease of dogs and cats and also a zoonosis with a myriad of presentations from chronic PUPD for months thru to acute death from the  acute pulmonary form through to acute renal insufficiency\, anaemia and liver disease.\nSee you then \nDave is a specialist physician qualified Onderstepoort 1992 undergrad\, and Specialised 2003. He together with Dr. Adri Scholtz and Dr. Rowena Watson run the Medical Department of the JSVC and offer services in most fields of internal medicine. These fields include dermatology\, cardiology\, oncology\, urology and nephrology\, musculo-skeletal disease including arthritis and endocrine disorders as well as critically ill patients with infectious disease. Endoscopy\, diagnostic radiology\, ultrasonography of the heart\, chest\, abdomen and glands and chemotherapy also form part of these services. CT scans are performed in house and MRI at the human local hospital. In 2009\, she moved to the UK for a residency at the University of Bristol\, later becoming a lecturer and earning both her FRCPath and ECVCP diplomas. Since 2020\, she has worked at IDEXX UK as a Clinical Pathologist and Deputy Head of Veterinary Clinical Microbiology. Marta is a board member of ECVCP and active in the ESGVM/ESCMID. Her interests include infectious disease diagnostics\, antimicrobial sensitivity\, biomarkers\, and microscopy. Outside work\, she enjoys family time\, countryside walks\, gardening\, and learning the cello.
