Dr Bobby Cowles
After receiving an animal science degree (1988), Dr. Bobby Cowles completed a master’s in veterinary science at Washington State University College of veterinary medicine (1992). He then proceeded to Kansas State University where he received his DVM (1996) which then carried him to clinical practice in Oregon focusing on Equine and Small Animal. He then received an MBA from the University of Oregon (2002). Bobby then founded the Orca Mountain Veterinary/Business Services where he provided equine and small animal relief services as well as business consultation. During this same time, he worked at the Oregon Zoo as a veterinarian as well as teaching anatomy/physiology and small business management to second year college students. Dr. Cowles worked for Vet Stem as equine product manager/western sales manager for two years immediately prior to joining PAH in 2008 as an equine area veterinarian. In 2011 he moved to the outcomes research group doing field studies (Equine, Porcine, Dogs, Cats, Cattle and Poultry). In 2017 he moved into the diagnostic medical group to support the growth of this section within Zoetis. In 2019 he returned to the Equine Technical Service team to work with field research, business development, and diagnostics specific for the horse. He has a special interest in herd health, immunology, modeling business economics and diseases, and regenerative medicine.
