Your next consult: A 16-year-old cat with severe periodontal disease… a 14-year old arthritic labrador with an ulcerative bleeding mass… the list continues and we have all had these patients come through our doors.
Should we avoid anaesthesia simply because we fear for their age or do we owe it to them to give them the care they need, no matter how uncomfortable this may be for us as veterinary professionals?
This CPD will guide you through the challenges that geriatric (and pediatric) patients may present and how to get them through anaesthesia safely.
