Speaker: Prof. Brandan Janssens – BVSc (Hons), DipECVS, Fellow Surgical Oncology
Dr Janssens graduated from Onderstepoort in 2007. After 2 years in general practice in Johannesburg, he moved to the UK where he did a rotating internship and surgery residency at the University of Liverpool. In 2017 he completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the world-renowned Flint Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. He has spent the last 6 years as an academic surgical oncologist in the United States and was an Assistant Professor in Surgical Oncology at Colorado State University before making the move back to South Africa. Brandan is a specialist in small animal surgery (ECVS) and a recognised specialist in surgical oncology (RCVS and SAVC). He is an affiliate Assistant Professor at Colorado State University. Brandan has published over 50 peer review scientific articles, several textbook chapters, and lectured both nationally and internationally.
