Description: Feline pancreatitis remains a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge, particularly in its chronic form. This webinar will review emerging evidence on the diagnosis and management of pancreatitis in cats, with a focus on practical applications in clinical practice. Participants will learn how to integrate and interpret available diagnostic modalities to improve diagnostic accuracy, gain a clearer understanding of the expected clinical course of chronic pancreatitis, and apply current treatment strategies to optimize long-term management. This session is designed to provide clinicians with evidence-based updates and actionable guidance for improving outcomes in cats with suspected or confirmed pancreatitis.
Speaker: Dr. Panos Xenoulis is a Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Thessaly in Greece and an Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University in the USA. He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed both a Dr.med.vet. degree and a PhD at Texas A&M University, focusing on hyperlipidemia and pancreatitis in dogs. He is residency-trained by the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN). His clinical and research interests include hyperlipidemia, gastrointestinal disorders, clinical nutrition, and the microbiota. He has been recognized among the top 1% of scientists globally according to the Composite Citation Index and has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed journal publications, 30 book chapters, and lectured at national and international conferences.
