This presentation will cover the common causes of epilepsy in dogs, typical approaches to diagnosis, pharmaceutical treatment and use of nutrition as adjunctive therapy. Long term management of dogs that are responsive to therapy as well as refractive to treatment will be discussed. Specifically, the metabolism of medium-chain triglycerides will be covered and how they have been shown to reduce the frequency of seizures in affected dogs.
